Dark Knight

A photo-realistic tiger painting that utilises a number of application techniques.  The under-painting was done using acrylic paint and the fur was built in layers utilising acrylic inks applied with and airbrush, a very time consuming process but one that worked beautifully on this dynamic, powerful portrait.

'When the light falls, we are at our most vulnerable.  Same as in the animal kingdom, the night brings it's predators, only with us, the predators can be in the form of our own thoughts and worries.

Things always appear more worrying or more magnified during the dark hours of the night.  It can be difficult to switch off and to let the events in our minds drift away.'
